School Screening Vendors: Routine COVID Safety Check
Routine COVID Safety Checks offers a way to use highly sensitive molecular tests at scale affordably. In Routine COVID Safety Checks, swabs or saliva samples from multiple people are mixed together and tested as a single group. Using groups of 10, a lab can test 100 people by only running 10 tests – making regular testing programs efficient and affordable.
If the group is negative, then all individuals in that group are ‘clear’ and may continue to attend classes or their work at the school. If the group is flagged as positive, then we know that there is at least one individual in that group who is positive for COVID-19.
There are two types of Routine COVID Safety Checks:
On-Site Routine COVID Safety Check: swabs or saliva samples are pooled on site. When a group is flagged as positive, we must individually retest this group of 10 individuals to determine who is actually positive for COVID-19. Click here to get started with on-site pooled testing.
In-Lab Routine COVID Safety Check: swabs or saliva samples are collected individually and grouped in the lab. Follow-up tests can be conducted in the lab without additional swab or saliva sample collection. Click here to get started with in-lab pooled testing.
